Old-fashioned Hot Cereal

  • 1 cup #3 coarse bulgur
  • 1 cup raisins or chopped dried apricots
  • 2 cups water


  • In a 2 to 3 quart pan, stir bulgur into boiling water over high heat. Boil. Cover and simmer until bulgur is tender to bite--about 40 minutes. About 15 minutes before it is done, stir in fruit. Top as desired with brown sugar or honey and cream.
