Leah’s Greek Rice with Bulgur

  • 1 lb. lb. hamburger
  • 2 cans (14-1/2 oz) cans of chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 cup #3 coarse bulgur
  1. In a large skillet, brown hamburger with the butter. Add rice, bulgur and chicken broth. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Suggestions: Applesauce on the side tastes good with this dish. Meatballs rather than browning the hamburger. Cubes of chicken rather than hamburger. Beef broth instead of chicken broth. This dish even tastes good the next morning mixed with scrambled eggs!
