Bulgur Stuffing with Apples

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 1/2 cups #3 coarse cooked bulgur
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 cup chopped celery
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/3 cup diced tart green apple peeled
  • 1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
  • giblets chopped

Instructions

  • Heat in heavy skillet butter or margarine, chopped onion, chopped celery, diced tart green apple, chopped giblets. Saut√© over moderate heat until onions are straw colored. Blend in cooked bulgur, salt, pepper and poultry seasoning. How to cook bulgur: combine in a saucepan, 1 cup bulgur, 1 2/3 cups water, and 1/4 tsp. salt. Bring to boil, reduce heat, and simmer until water is absorbed.
