Bulgur Baking Powder Biscuits

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup cooked #2 medium or #3 coarse bulgur
  1. Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in the shortening (criss-cross two knives or use back of fork.)Stir in milk and bulgur. Turn out on lightly-floured board; knead 10 times. Pat or roll out about 1/2″ in thickness. Cut with floured biscuit cutter or a knife into 2″ squares. Bake on greased sheets in 375° oven about 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
